Kurrajong & Camden

Author: Paul Woozley. Thanks :-)

2 routes. - km.

The branch Richmond to Kurrajong route is a closed line that served the Blue Mountains foothills region of Sydney Australia in the 1900's. The grades and curves were steep and very tight in places (5 chains).

The train stopped only at North Richmond and the terminals on a schedule. The other stops were on the demand of passengers. This route simulation stops at most stations. The schedule is based on the real one.

The 'rollercoaster' Campbelltown to Camden route is a long closed line that had the steepest adhesion grade in Australia. Often trains would have multiple attempts at climbing the hills. The train crew (3) sometimes outnumbered the passengers. The curves were very tight in places (5 chains).

The train stopped only at Narrellan and the terminals on a schedule. The other stops were on the demand of passengers. This route simulation stops at all stations. The schedule is based on the real one, although I have not included the 10 minute wait at Narellan.

Here is the model of the Eastern Suburbs Railway for BVE.

The Eastern Suburbs Railway is a part of the CityRail network in Sydney. Opened in 1979 after some 30 years or more of stop start construction, it connected the densely populated Eastern Suburbs with the main suburban network. It consists of seven stations over an 11 kilometre distance from Bondi Junction in the east to the junction with the Illawarra line at Erskineville. It includes the abandoned Woollhara station which was never finished due to budget blowouts or to the protests of the local residents depending on which political spin you wish to accept.
